Statement of Values and Aims

We believe in the value of:

• facilitating the development of the whole child – intellectual, physical & social

• meeting the needs of each child and cherishing individuality

• learning as an enjoyable and satisfying experience

• the benefit derived from a close relationship between school, home and the local community

• life–long learning

In order to sustain these values, we aim to:

• provide a broad, balanced curriculum within a caring and stimulating environment

• teach children according to their individual needs and abilities, helping them to achieve high standards in all they do

• monitor and assess each child’s progress effectively and celebrate individual achievements

• maintain a positive home–school relationship

• create a setting in which both adults and children are encouraged to learn

Code of Conduct

Our Code of Conduct is based on the 4 Cs: Caring, Courtesy, Consideration and Cooperation. From their first day at school the children are taught the meaning of the 4 Cs and that everyone’s behaviour is expected to reflect this philosophy. We promote good behaviour by implementing this code and through positive reinforcement.

Unacceptable behaviour is dealt with according to its severity by investigation of the situation, appropriate reprimand or the use of sanctions such as withdrawal of privileges. If there is a persistent problem then we involve the child’s parents in discussions to plan a suitable way to proceed.
