There are seven year groups in the school, Reception and Years 1 to 6. These year groups are divided into three stages, Foundation, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. Each stage follows a separate curriculum that is nationally defined:
At the present time we have four mixed ability classes with two year groups in each class, Year 1 being split between, Class 1 and Class 2. Our overall capacity is 120, which means that there is space for seventeen children in each year group. However, as year group size can vary significantly, it may be necessary to review class organisation in the future.
Within each class children are taught individually, as a group and as a whole class, but always according to their needs and abilities.
When you arrive in the morning, you may enter the school grounds through the front playground gate, which will be unlocked from 8.40 – 9.00am. The playground will be supervised after 8.45am.We ask that children are not left unaccompanied before this time, as we cannot accept responsibility for them. Please do not accompany your child into the cloakroom or this area will become too congested. Please ensure that your child arrives in time for the start of school. Latecomers must enter through the main entrance. For the security of the staff and children the inner main entrance door will be kept locked.
If there is no one in the Administration Office use the buzzer on the keypad or ring the hanging bell. Should this fail, attract attention through Class 4’s window.
The playground gate will be unlocked again at 3.00pm so that you may wait in the playground to collect your child. Please be considerate of classes still going on by keeping quiet near the building.
School day starts 8.55am
Morning break 10.25 – 10.40am
Lunch break 12.15 – 1.15pm
Afternoon break (Classes 1 & 2 only) 2.20 – 2.30pm
School day ends 3.15pm
Your child should know who is collecting them from school. If arrangements are changed, let us know. Please do not offer to take other children home without prior notice.
